So Glad to Find These!

I’ve been using scissors like this to trim parts of my Standard Poodle, my assistance/service dog named Worthy. I don’t want him all worn out after grooming sessions with the pro–a Standard Poodle requires an incredible amount of hair-cutting, incredibly often! He has a job assisting me, and being all worn out from grooming interferes with that. So I did some research and came up with a style that requires less time on the grooming table.

To make that time on the grooming table even shorter (about half as long), I scissor the parts of him that don’t show much myself, a day or two before we go to the groomer. I put a comb against his skin an trim against the comb, so that I won’t accidentally cut skin. And I use blunt-tipped scissors to further greatly reduce the risk of accidentally cutting skin.

I hold him lying down on my lap/outstretched legs, sitting up on the bed with a very strong light shining on him while I do this. So that makes it completely non-stressful for him.

I have learned that cutting Poodle hair puts scissors through a workout! I think the pair I have can be sharpened, but I haven’t figured out how yet. And I need at least two pair, so that if one becomes dull while I’m trimming him, I can immediately change scissors and keep working.

I’m not finding these blunt tipped Fiskars in the store, so I’m thrilled to find them here! Thank you, Amazon, for stocking these!

Update: Now it’s over a year later, I’m trimming even more of my big, very thick-coated Standard Poodle myself, and I’ve learned how to easily sharpen these scissors with the Fiskars sharpener. It works GREAT. These scissors have put in miles and miles and are still working terrifically well. Fiskars, thank you so very much for keeping these available, and thank you Amazon for handling them! These are exactly right for this huge grooming job! WOW! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
